COLE CLARK VIOLAP

This particular Violap by Cole Clark features a horseshoe pickup and an inbuilt acoustic pickup with preamp. Both sound amazing, I often use the acoustic pickup as it sounds really chunky especially with a little overdrive. With the acoustic pickup I can blend in some high end from a sensor that is under the face of the guitar...very sweet. The horseshoe sounds great but in a band situation as it cuts through
a mix nicely but doesn't sound so great on it's own. I performed a slight modification taking
the horseshoe off the pickup to make palm muting easier.

I had this guitar built from Red Gum timber. As a young fellow, I had worked in the forests around my home town of Deniliquin in the Riverina (NSW). I think Red Gum is one of most beautiful timbers out there. This timber was taken from forests that are managed in a sustainable fashion, something that is important to me as well as many others.

On a personal note my father who had introduced me to forestry donated the finances to have this masterpiece built so if you like the sounds I get out of it you will have thank him!
